This project was my final master's exercise at Labasad Design Institute.
The project briefing proposes creating a series of illustrations for El País Semanal's report "The Uncertain Revolution Against Obesity", with the goal of exploring the structural problems of obesity and the pharmaceutical industry.
The main purpose of this article is to inform readers about new pharmaceutical solutions, such as Ozempic. It discusses medical stigma and how patients are often blamed. Although new medications offer short-term benefits, obesity remains a chronic issue that requires lifestyle changes.
The report concludes that, while these medications provide a solution, they do not resolve fundamental problems such as poverty and inequality in our society.
I wanted the cover to be simple but with a strong visual metaphor about the Ozempic injection. While it can be a solution, it can also become a weapon against oneself. These were some of the first Sketches.
